The Catskill Interpretive Center is a step closer to reality. Funding has been secured, preliminary designs have been drafted and construction will begin in 2014.  A public hearing will soon be announced so you can share your ideas for improvement.

Also in the plans:  A covered pavillion, a firetower you can climb, an amphitheater for performances and events, A nature trail with picnic tables, a dog run and a sculpture park. Come back soon for more information.

Dear member of the Catskill community,

The private/public Partnership led by The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development, and The Friends of The Catskill Interpretive Center is making progress in the construction of The Maurice Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center in Mount Tremper, in the town of Shandaken. A Kiosk with 16 panels of information about the Catskills has already been erected at the site, by Route 28.  READ MORE>>>
