The visitor center building will soon be under construction, but the
meadow along Route 28 will be open to the public, with five large
sculptures on exhibit, part of the Phoenicia/Shandaken
Art Studio Tour. The CIC Art Park will be open throughout the
in the plans for 2015: A covered pavillion, a firetower you
can climb, an amphitheater for performances and events, A nature trail
with picnic tables, a dog run and a more extensive sculpture park.

Day 2013: Friends of the Catskill Interpretive Center Get
The Hamlet Hero Award! See

private/public Partnership led by The New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation, The Catskill Center for Conservation and
Development, and The Friends of The Catskill Interpretive Center is
making progress in the construction of The Maurice Hinchey Catskill
Interpretive Center in Mount Tremper, in the town of Shandaken. A
Kiosk with 16 panels of information about the Catskills has already
been erected at the site, by Route 28. READ
